One thing I recommend to EVERYONE with a Free Facebook Group as part of their lead generation strategy is that they have a tool like Group Leads in their arsenal... I try hard not to use jargon but in the world of tech and business that ain't always easy :) I do know that some of the words I use are nonsensical to people... you don't know what you don't know right? SO please never feel silly about asking me for clarification on any words I use.

When I say 'automated system' I mean a series of actions that can happen automatically when triggered by something that you or your customer does... for example:

A CUSTOMER WANTS TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

A MANUAL SYSTEM might look like you sending through options to them and letting them choose on that suits you before messaging you back; if the time is still available you can confirm it to them with another message. You can book it into your calendar and set up a zoom link to send them in another message. You can request payment and chase it up with messages. You can put the appointment in your own diary and send them a reminder closer to the time to make sure they turn up. After the session you can send them a follow up message to check in on them and remind them about the offers you have available.

An AUTOMATED SYSTEM would involve YOU DOING ONE THING... sending them a link to your calendar; they choose their date and time based on your availability on the calendar (synced to your google or outlook calendar); they pay and fill in any forms you need from them at the time of booking the appointment; the information of the appointment is sent to you in an email and confirmation is sent to the client. Closer to the time reminders are sent out at a frequency pre-set by you. After the call there can be a pre-set series of follow up emails that simply send to the client without you having to lift a finger!!

Another example:

SOMEONE PURCHASED YOUR ONLINE MEMBERSHIP

A MANUAL SYSTEM might looking like you speaking to the potential member in messages to tell them all about the amazing membership. They agree to give it a try so you send them over a payment link or your bank details and then have to chase them to pay or just abandon the sale altogether if they don't pay up... no one likes those conversations! They do buy! Whohoo... so now you confirm in a message to them that their payment is received and give them the details they need to know. They need a link to join the community, they need access to files and videos, they need to know their discount codes, they need to know all about what they have purchased as well as how to cancel if they want to. If they are paying monthly you have to keep an eye on payments and chase up any missed payments with yet more messages. If your membership includes regular meetings or training etc you have to manually message people to make sure they know about and have all of the details... this is tiring work!

An AUTOMATED SYSTEM would look more like this - you send a link to the beautifully crafted 'sales page' on your website which details the membership benefits in a way that would be so hard to recreate in a message. The sales page even has FAQs to help combat those common 'blocks' that people have to purchasing your offer as well as amazing testimonials to show that your work with other people is highly commended. The client purchases directly from the page and the payment is with you instantly via Stripe or Paypal. As soon as they purchase; your automated system will send out confirmation email with all details they need; give them access to courses and communities if needed; tag them with the membership name so your email list remains nicely organised; send you an email to let you know you have a new member; add them into a series of reminder emails to tell them when you have a group membership call coming up; monitor payments for you and restrict access if someone fails to keep their membership payments up.... AND ALL YOU DID WANT SEND THEM THE LINK TO THE SALES PAGE!!!

Ok so I save this example of an 'Automated System' for its own FAQ but that is exactly what it is... an automated system which takes a lead from joining your Facebook group to becoming a paid client and all you do is click 'ACCEPT' and let them into your group!!! WOW right?!

SO WHAT ARE THE STEPS?

If you are currently managing your business MANUALLY then it might look something like this:

• You promote your free facebook group as a supportive community aimed at your idea client; someone requests to join

• You click ACCEPT and let them in.

• You ask for their email address when they join but most of the time you forget to make note of it when you are letting them in to the group; if you do make note of it you take it, add it manually into your email list and send them an email welcoming them to your community.

• You nurture them through the content in the group and perhaps through sending out monthly newsletters to your email list.

• You offer free coaching to get eyes on you and your offer, you promote your paid offerings, you work HARD in your group... and only get a tiny % of eyes on the posts because Facebook is... well Facebook is Facebook!

• Someone DOES come along and asks about your course/coaching/membership.... you chat to them in messenger and tell them more about it and they decide to join - whohoo!

• You send them the payment details and then chase it up with more messages when they don't follow through.

• They finally pay and you celebrate and send them everything they need to know in a message or email.

• You grant them access to your course content and send them all of the links they need.

• You welcome them into another Facebook group just for members and hope that they see all of the posts in this group (despite that Facebook tendency to restrict free posts).

• Perhaps your course/membership has regular meetings so you need to send out reminders and details each month.

• Or perhaps you offer one on one coaching and so every time they need to make an appointment you have a to-and-fro about availability before setting up an appointment and inviting them and sending out reminders yourself!

• You monitor their monthly payments each month and chase up any issues.

• This is quite a list of actions... I wonder how much of it could happen without you?! I wonder how much of it is open to human error?! I wonder how many of these actions you are not doing right now because the conversations are hard to have, the leads are not converting or you just don't have time?!

NOW.... THE AUTOMATED FACEBOOK FUNNEL SYSTEM LOOKS MORE LIKE THIS:

You promote your Facebook group with confidence knowing that as soon as someone requests to join and you click ACCEPT the rest of this just happens!!

• A Facebook message sends instantly to welcome them to the group and open a line of communication, inviting them to share more about their hopes for being part of your community

• Group Leads takes their email address and answers to your other 'joining questions' and adds them into your email list/crm

• Your email marketing system gets moving, they are sent the first in a string of emails welcoming them to your community, telling them about you, nurturing them, showing your expertise and detailing the offer you want to promote to them by directing them to a beautiful sales page with all the info on!

• They love what you do and want to join your paid offer - whohoo! They click to purchase!

• They are not sure and abandon their cart... your system picks up on it and sends them a short series of nurturing emails to encourage them to buy as well as flagging up to you that someone is a hot prospect

• They buy... they pay online and get an instant confirmation page with all of the details they need to dive straight in!

• They also get an email confirmation and a receipt

• They are sent log in details for any online courses you are offering them; or are added into a membership community; or are sent to your coaching calendar to book in their first appointment

• They are added into reminder emails for regular meetings

• They are send automatic email reminders for any appointments they book as part of their membership

• Their payments are monitored monthly and account is restricted if they miss a payment
